Background:
I achieved international recognition in 1992 when I became the first ever Tuba player to win the Brass section of the BBC Young Musician of the Year. The only Tuba player to this date to have done so. After studying at the Royal Northern College of Music I worked with some of the finest ensembles in the country as a soloist and orchestral musician. These include the Halle Orchestra, Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, Northern Chamber Orchestra and Massed Military Bands of Kneller Hall. I have toured extensively across the world as a soloist to countries including, France, Switzerland, Germany, America, Denmark, Oman, Austria and Belgium. I have broadcast as a soloist on BBC Radio Two and Three on many occasions. My concert experience is extensive and have performed for members of the Royal Family, including HRH Queen Elizabeth II, HRH Prince Charles, HRH Duchess of Kent and the late Princess Dianna. More recently I have been teaching in schools throughout Cheshire and the NorthWest of England and currently tutor all Brass and Music Theory to all standards, includin Diploma and Professional level.
